Seedstars has teamed up with the Canton de Vaud to tap into the Emerging Markets potential. The organisation, which is active in more than 60 countries around the world, has launched the first series of calls to entrepreneurs to join four selected delegations. The first is due at the end of June in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The rise of emerging markets is expected. 70% of GDP and 85% of the world’s population will be accounted by emerging markets over the next few years. It is fundamental for Swiss-based companies such as startups to access these high growth opportunities and get the first mover advantage.

Seedstars Delegations to Emerging Countries are organized by Seedstars in collaboration with the Canton of Vaud (SPECo, DEV, Innovaud, CVCI, Lausanne Region). These 5-days delegations enable startups & SMEs based in Vaud to implement their international expansion objectives in any of the 4 chosen destination markets: Johannesburg (South Africa), Shanghai (China), Sao Paolo (Brazil) and Dubai (UAE).

The formula is particularly interesting for startups as it enables them to get connected to the right people on the market, promote their business and unlock sales opportunities by finding leads and accounts. They will also be get real-time insights for warm outreach and have the opportunity to build trusted relationships with customers & prospects.

Seedstars and the Canton de Vaud have started launching the calls to entrepreneurs to join the selected delegations. The first is due at the end of June in Johannesburg, South Africa. The following one will also be very promising as it will enable E-commerce, IoT, Fintech startups to tap into the potential of the Chinese market at the end of August. Interested startups from the Canton de Vaud can apply until June 30th.

As Startupticker.ch learned discussing with Sofia Curado, Project Manager in Charge of the organization of the events, the interest for the Seedstars Delegations formula is growing in Switzerland and other cantons could benefit as soon as next year from this resource.
