Three New CTI Start-up Label Companies

Two medtech and one fintech company were awarded the CTI Start-up label this week: Contovista, CoreMedic and Medyria.

Three companies with ambitious goals were awarded with the CTI Start-up Label: Medyria aims at making catheter based procedures faster, safer and more effective. Coremedic wants to reduce the invasiveness of heart surgery and with Contovista’s products banking shall become a delightful experience.

Contovista AG, Schlieren
Contovista is a digital banking software company specialising on big data analytics, business intelligence and visualisation over financial data. The start-up offers offer innovative client facing products that can be easily integrated into existing banking solutions. The product portfolio of Contovista includes a complete Personal Finance Management (PFM) solution, a Finance Management solution for SMBs as well as a Portfolio Analytics solution. Contovista's Analytics Engine translates unstructured financial data into structured data, enriched with meta-information. This structured data forms the basis for the products of the start-up and can also be leveraged to build powerful custom applications. The digital assistant of Contovista can already be used by customers of Schwyzer Kantonalbank.

CoreMedic AG, Biel / Bienne
CoreMedic is developing medical devices for heart valve repair that are less invasive, easy to use and most importantly, result in an excellent outcome for the patient. CoreMedic’s goal is to achieve the outstanding results of gold standard open heart surgery while dramatically reducing invasiveness and simultaneously keeping the complexity for the user at a minimum. In this context CoreMedic is developing devices for both open heart surgery and minimally invasive approaches. These devices focus on allowing an easy and long lasting repair of the mitral valve with excellent outcome for the patient.

Medyria AG, Winterthur
Medyria is a medtech startup based in Winterthur that engineers technologies for endovascular catheter navigation and sensing. Its goal is to make catheter based procedures faster, safer and more effective. Medyria’s core technology is a sensor-based system, called Flowcath, to measure blood flow and a revolutionary technology for processing flow data and tracking catheters called Trackcath. The technology in its first application provides contrast-dye-free precise catheter guidance for stent placement. TrackCath, the Catheter Positioning System, offers various advantages such as

  • Reduction / elimination of X-rays
  • Reduction from 75% to 100% of C-dye usage
  • High risk patients (with diabetes, etc) can be treated with minimal invasive procedures
  • Higher accuracy of stent placement

Medyria is rapidly growing and plans to place its first product, the Trackcath, on the market in 2016.
