On July 11, 2017, Venture Kick selected and supported the 500th project since the creation of Venture Kick in 2007, at a stage one jury session in Lausanne. The 500th project is Feeltronix from EPFL (LSBI lab), which develops a technology capable of stretching the mechanical limits of electronics for wearables.

The promise of wearables continues to grow, even though there are no accepted methods for merging electronics with the body. Feeltronix has developed a proprietary platform technology that stretches the mechanical limits of electronics and provides solutions for wearable and compliant systems. The technology is compatible with equipment used in the manufacture and assembly of electronic circuits, and enables unmatched mechanical elasticity and electronic performance in soft circuits.

Three other startup projects won the first stage of Venture Kick on the same day as Feeltronix.Venture Kick has published short descriptions of these start-ups.

The philanthropic initiative Venture Kick provides up to CHF 130’000 to seed stage startups. In addition, it offers a well-structured entrepreneurial path towards building a winning business. Startups present in front of a jury at three different stages to obtain funding as well as direct feedback and access to an international network of successful entrepreneurs and investors.

Since 2007, 500 Swiss startup projects have received CHF 20 million from Venture Kick. This resulted in more than 350 active companies with 3’900 jobs. In 2017, Venture Kick will pay out CHF 3 million to idea-stage startup projects to bring Swiss science to global markets.
