Three startups have successfully closed their funding campaigns in the recent months and days: Blinkers with over 53’000 Euro, ELEPHBO with 34'000 Swiss Francs and BB Air with over CHF 45’500 in ten days. Initially the BB Air founders set their goal at CHF 30’000.

ELEPHBO
Established in 2016 in Zurich, Elephbo recycles cement packaging material in Cambodia and turns them into wicked classy accessories whilst supporting the ones in need and contributing to a better environment. In order to give the material a better handling for fashion products, they are assembled with other European materials to make them more durable. The bags are designed in different shapes, sizes and vary depending on their intended use, for instance, for long or short trips, for business purposes or daily use among others.

Last month the startup team based in Cambodia launched a campaign on Kickstarter seeking 20’000 to finance this project. Elephbo collected funds higher than their initial set funding goal with over CHF 34’000, which will be used to manufacture and design more bags and enable them to strengthen their commitment to the people they work with as well as hire more people in Cambodia.

Blinkers
Founders of Velohub, a Zurich based startup at the Swiss Startup Factory striving to improve bikers’ safety on the road, launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to finance their smart lights “Blinkers”. Blinkers are a set of lights that increases bikers’ security once attached on the bicycle. The lights enable car drivers and pedestrians to see bikers on the street and understand their traffic communication. With this concept and idea, the startup was able to reach out to large number people in the audience.

Blinkers was established seven months ago, and since then, then its four founders have been working on the design, functionalities, prototyping and testing. During the campaign, the founders received high quality feedback from many of its backers who contributed over EUR 53'000. The advice and tipps received will be implemented during the manufacturing process that is yet to begin to the final product.

BB Air
Bb Air are high quality Bluetooth headphones developed by Yannik Blomm and Eric Berger from Basel. The two founders have set their focus on sound quality and functionality to make something special for the community.

The headphones are made with high quality material and a few essential functions in order to improve sound experience. They have a smart on/off function, which allows users to pause and get right back to the music. This facilitates adaptability to any situation. The ear pads can be interchanged between on-ear and around-ear ear pads. The headphones also come with various options that allow for personalisation.

Now, the startup is ready to start manufacturing and shipping to its customers by September 2016.
