At the last Swiss Venture Day in December of 2015, CTI Invest’s Managing Director Jean-Pierre Vuilleumier made several important announcements: The leading financing platform for innovative start-ups in Switzerland will collaborate closely with the Swiss Startup Factory. The two organizations will co-organize events, offer training for start-ups and already launched a website with Podcasts and Videos of Swiss start-ups.

Starting 1.1.2016 CTI Invest and the independent accelerator Swiss Startup Factory will start a close cooperation in order to further develop the Swiss Startup Ecosystem. The Founding Partner of the Swiss Startup Factory, Mike Baur, is appointed Deputy Managing Director of CTI Invest. Mike Baur is foreseen as successor of Jean-Pierre Vuilleumier, currently Managing Director of CTI Invest. To further strengthen the relationship between the two organizations, Jean-Pierre Vuilleumier joins the Swiss Startup Factory Core Team and is appointed Managing Partner of the Swiss Startup Factory as of 1.1.2016.

The two organizations will cooperate in different fields. They have already launched a public website with Podcasts and Videos of Swiss Startups. The Swiss Startup Factory will support CTI Invest also with co-organizing events (e.g. Swiss Startup Day) and training for Startups under the brand Swiss Startup Training. The training programme will start in spring 2016.

CTI Invest will provide support for the pre-selection, the coaching and the Demo Day (with investors) of the Swiss Startup Factory accelerator programme. As both parties are certified as “Playing Lean” Facilitators the Lean Concept will be an integral part of the offering.

The format of the Swiss Venture Day will be renewed. At the events in Zurich and Lausanne simultaneous tracks are foreseen – one for IT and one for Life Sciences. In addition, a pure Life Sciences Venture Day is an option for Basel. Like this year, additional Swiss Venture Days will also take place in St. Gallen (Investor Forum) and Ticino.

The Swiss Startup Day will be extended by half a day. The first day (24 October 2016, afternoon) will focus on best practices workshops for start-ups. Followed by the traditional Investor & Supporter Dinner. The second day (25 October 2016 will include the pitching battle, panels and keynotes, investors and supporters on stage and 1to1 meetings. A repetition of the Elevator Pitches as qualification for the pitching battle is planned as well.
