BestMile is on a winning streak. Just a few days after being elected among  the 10 Global Urban Innovators of the year by the New Cities Foundation in Montreal, the autonous mobility expert based at the EPFL Innovation Park wins the Strategis Prize 2016 and receives the CHF 50’000.- check.  

The jury of the Strategis Prize has designated BestMile as the winner of the 2016 edition. The company received a CHF 50’000.-- check during the ceremony held tonight in the Amphimax Conference Room at the University of Lausanne.

Geosatis finishes second with its innovative and complete solution for detainees based on electronic monitoring. KB Medical SA comes in third position. The medtech company developed the AQrate system, a robotic assistant designed specifically for spine surgery. 

During the ceremony presented by Patrick Delarive the five finalists BestMile, Fashwell, Geosatis, KB Medical SA, Mindmaze were given the opportunity to pitch for 3 minutes to try to win the audience award.  The two guests of honor, Jean-Marc Tassetto, co-founder and former CEO of Coorpacademy Google France and Alexander Linewitsch, product manager Jodel, shared with the event audience their entrepreneurial insights.

Incorporated in January 2014, BestMile is a Swiss start-up offering technology for urban mobility. Spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), BestMile provides a fleet management platform designed to optimize and operate any fleet of autonomous vehicles. BestMile’s cutting edge technology brings coherence to autonomous vehicle fleets by shaping “individual robots” into an intelligent, innovative and flexible mobility system. The startup based at the EPFL Innovation Park is on a winning streak. A few days ago BestMile was elected as one of the 10 Global Urban Innovators for 2016 by the New Cities Foundation in Montreal. Every year, the foundation selects the 10 most path-breaking startups and social enterprises in the world to join their community
